It all begins with our children. Baby naming, brit bat, brit milah, pidyon harechem, and bruchim haba’im adoption ceremonies are all ways we welcome new life into this world.
From Consecration to B’nai Mitzvah to Confirmation, the path of Torah learning grows more and more critical each year. Our children might be Nobel prize winners, they might be famous entertainers, they might be sports starts, but they will always be a part of the Jewish people, with Torah at the center.
Many of us think about our wedding day starting when we are children. We want to build the perfect day for ourselves, the perfect experience for our friends and family. A Jewish wedding is a moment in time that helps us make every day after just as sacred as the day we exchange vows. Officiating weddings is one of the best things rabbis do, and I love making connections with new couples as they start their together journey.
When a loved one dies it can be difficult to navigate the details. I am here to help clarify details so you can focus on yourself while you mourn.
I teach an annual Intro to Judaism course in partnership with the Union for Reform Judaism. Anyone who wishes to take the next step toward becoming a member of the Jewish community is more than welcome to register for a class. Each session lasts about 14 weeks, plus time at Shabbat services and (modern practices permitting) a Shabbaton—an opportunity to spend the day together on Shabbat learning, praying, and discovering.
